- Fly out on the earliest departure of the day
- Sleep in Labuan Bajo the night before a boat day
- Leave a spare morning before any onward international flight
- Book the boat first, then the flights around it
Avoid this
- Landing in Labuan Bajo after lunch on day one
- Flying back to Bali the same evening as a boat day
- Connecting straight onto a long-haul flight
- Assuming two days is enough because the flight is short
