Is the hike difficult?

It is a staircase with two rest platforms. Thirty to forty-five minutes for a reasonably fit adult; children do it routinely, and so do travellers in their seventies who pace themselves.

What time should I start?

Boats that put you on the trail around 6:30am give you cool air, soft light and an almost empty ridge. By 10am in high season the staircase is a queue.

No. Padar has no resident dragon population, so no ranger escort is required for the standard viewpoint trail.

Are the three bays really different colours?

Yes. The southern beach carries a pink tint from red foraminifera, the grey one comes from darker volcanic sediment, and the third is white coral sand.

Can I do Padar on a day trip?

Yes — it is the centrepiece of the standard loop. The variable is whether your operator leaves early enough to arrive before the fleet.
