How the Five Days Run

Two boat days, two slow ones, one to travel. Any of it can move.

A boat sailing between the islands of Komodo National Park

Day 01

Land, and let the town do its work

The flight from Bali is 1.5 hours. Nothing is scheduled after it — the harbour at dusk is worth more than a rushed first excursion.

Morning
Fly Bali → Labuan Bajo, transfer to your hotel
Later
Waterfront, then dinner on the harbour
Night
Labuan Bajo
The three-bay viewpoint on Padar Island

Day 02

Into the park

Board early and head straight for the headline sites while the sea is flat and the light is still low.

Morning
Padar ridge before the heat
Later
Pink Beach, then the Komodo dragon walk
Night
Aboard, anchored in the park
Snorkelling over the reef at Siaba, Komodo

Day 03

Rinca, and the water you came for

The quieter dragon walk, then the day the snorkelling actually gets time rather than a fifteen-minute stop.

Morning
Loh Buaya on Rinca with a ranger
Later
Manta Point and Taka Makassar sandbar
Night
Aboard
Pink Beach from the air, Komodo National Park

Day 04

The south, and an afternoon off

The southern beaches most three-day routes never reach. The afternoon has nothing in it on purpose.

Morning
Kanawa or Kelor, snorkel and swim
Later
Free — read, dive, or do nothing
Night
Aboard, or back in Labuan Bajo
The trekking track on Rinca Island

Day 05

Town, then the flight home

A last morning in Labuan Bajo before the afternoon flight back to Bali.

Morning
Market and coffee above the harbour
Later
Transfer to the airport, fly to Bali
